HANOI - MAI CHAU - PU LUONG NATRURE RESERVE 3DAYS 2 NIGHTS

OVERVIEW:  Located in the northwest of Vietnam, Mai Chau Village and Pu Luong Nature Reserve are famous for their natural beauty. Here nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains are home to many varieties of plants and wildlife. Here also is home to different Minority People such as Thai and Muong .

Itinerary:                                                                                                                              

Day 1: Transfer Hanoi- Mai Chau.

We will leave Hanoi early at 8AM for a 5 hour drive North West to Mau Chai village. Firstly we pass through flat farming regions of rice and corn farms before driving up through the mountains with beautiful views of the valley below. We will have a short break at the Muong Ethnic Market where several varieties of farming products are sold. Here you can enjoy a cup of tea, or try some local freshly boiled corn or sweet potato.   We will then continue driving up to Mau Chai to check in to our Homestay for the night at Ban Van Village. After having lunch at the homestay we will have the afternoon to explore the beautiful villages of Ban Van, Pom Coong and Ban Lac. The tour offers you the option of walking or easy biking around the area. The Thai are the majority of ethnic people living in this beautiful valley and are famous for their traditional embroidery and tasty cuisine. At the end of the day enjoy a shower and home cooked meal at our Homestay.

Day 2: Transfer Mai Chau- Puong Nature Reserve.

After waking to fresh village air and a nice locally produced breakfast our tour will continue today, driving through the Mai Chau Valley to Pu Luong Nature Reserve. As we drive through the natural forest we can stop to enjoy the beautiful views in the valley of bamboo, corn and rice fields and then a short walk to visit a Thai Ethnic Village with many beautiful photo opportunities along the way.  We will visit a Chopstick Factory where you can see how chopsticks are made from local bamboo and have lunch. After a one and a half hour drive we arrive at Resort with beautiful views of the valley below and surrounded by picturesque mountains. After check-in here for the night you can have a rest before we go for a hike down to a Thai village and return to Resort for a rest or maybe a swim in the pool before dinner.

Day 3: Hiking to Ban Nua Village to visit the Water wheels.

After breakfast at the Resort we have a short drive today to the valley for hiking to another Thai Village. Here we can visit a traditional pretty Thai stilt house with palm leaf roof and learn more of the culture from the local people. We then drive from the village out to The Great Waterwheel which is used by the Thai people to transfer water from the stream to their rice fields. You will be surprised by the ingenious design of the waterwheel made from bamboo and wood and again beautiful photo opportunities.  We then drive to the next town where we have lunch before the four and a half hour drive back to Hanoi on The famous Ho Chi Minh Trail.
